Evaluation MethodIn accordance with the requirements of the SigG and SigV, the confirmation was issued based on a Common Criteria evaluation according to the Protection Profiles “Protection profiles for secure signature creation device, Part 2: Device with key generation” and “Protection Profile – Electronic Identity Card (ID_Card PP)”. The evaluation was conducted at assurance level EAL 4+ and against a high attack potential (augmentation AVA_VAN.5).
The evaluation includes
  • the Common Criteria evaluation of the product “TCOS Identity Card Version 1.0 Release 1/P5CD128/145” according to the following Protection Profiles at assurance level EAL 4+ (EAL 4 with augmentations AVA_VAN.5, ATE_DPT.2, and ALC_DVS.2)
    • “Protection profiles for secure signature creation device, Part 2: Device with key generation”
    • “Protection Profile – Electronic Identity Card (ID_Card PP)”,
  • the confirmation of the product in accordance with § 15 para. 7 sentence 1, § 17 para. 1 Signature Act (SigG) and § 15 para. 1 and 4, § 11 para. 3 Signature Ordinance (SigV) by the confirmation body of SRC accredited by the Federal Network Agency, and
  • two amendments to extend the confirmation:
    • Amendment 1: Supplement to the functional description of the card and to the requirements for the signature key and cardholder
    • Amendment 2: Extension of the validity period.

Based on the transitional measures pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014, Article 51, paragraph 1, the product is considered a QSCD in accordance with the aforementioned regulation.

DescriptionThe product “TCOS Identity Card Version 1.0 Release 1/P5CD128/145” is a secure signature creation device (SSCD) in accordance with SigG and SigV. The card is a new (electronic) identity card (nPA) and features a contactless interface. The product is distributed by the manufacturer in two product variants: TCOS Identity Card Version 1.0 Release 1/P5CD128 and TCOS Identity Card Version 1.0 Release 1/P5CD145. The product variants differ only in the size of the EEPROM. The confirmation covers both product variants.

The product consists of, among other components, the semiconductor (IC) P5CD145 or P5CD128 from NXP, the card operating system TCOS ID CARD Version 1.0 Release 1, and an application for generating qualified signatures.

SRC certifies that the product “TCOS Identity Card Version 1.0 Release 1/P5CD128/145” from T-Systems International GmbH meets the requirements in accordance with § 17 para. 1 and 3 No. 1 SigG and § 15 para. 1 and 4, Annex 1, I, 1.1 to 1.3 SigV.

Based on the transitional measures pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014, Article 51, paragraph 1, the product is considered a QSCD in accordance with the aforementioned regulation.
